George recently joined BDL as a part of the newly opened BDL Hamilton office. With a Diploma in Electronics from Waikato University and over 10 years industry experience, he’s a very enthusiastic electro-mechanical troubleshooter with special interest in IT. He thoroughly enjoys the process of analyzing and solving problems big or small and is excited be a part of the new BDL Hamilton team.
When did you start with BDL?
I started this great opportunity with BDL on November 2020
What did you do before that?
I’ve been in this industry for the last 10 years with positions held in Sharp Corporation NZ and Fuji Xerox NZ .
What does your job entail?
Installation, Service and Maintenance of HP Multifunctional devices. My role requires a good understanding of both hardware and networking side of these devices and I’m happily enjoying my role in Hamilton.
What is a typical day like?
As per clients request, I visit customer sites and resolve their MFD issues.
Favorite memory from work?
One of my previous client’s (a High School Principal) sending a letter to my then manager commending my work ethic.

What do you like most about your job?
I like solving problems big or small, work through steps to find the solutions and I thoroughly enjoy every part of the process.
What do you like most about Hamilton?
Hamilton is very vibrant with lots of energy. Even though it is land locked, it’s got its own character and that makes it very special in our beautiful Aotearoa. It’s got great scenic spots, walks, bike rides and lots of vibrant restaurants and cafes.
What’s a fun fact about you?
Sometimes my cooking turns out to be a disaster, not sure why? Life long learning required by looks of it!
What do you like most about working at BDL?
It has a pleasant family feel with friendly staff. It offers a very positive environment with less hierarchy than in big corporates.
What is your New Year’s Resolution?
I wish to explore NZ a bit more into areas I’ve never been.
What’s something you saw recently that made you smile?
When I saw my 1-year-old start walking.
What’s something you have done that you will never do again?
Car Repairs! Some issues may look simple from YouTube videos but it’s well worth to take to a mechanic for peace of mind!
